Marian's Woods Named NAIA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two days after being named as the Crossroads League Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, Marian women's track and field senior Katie Woods has been named as the NAIA's National Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. 

Woods had an electric weekend as Marian competed at the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic, hitting a pair of national A standard times as she won each of her events. Woods broke her own school record with her 2:51.35 time in the 1000m, while she also helped Marian set the No. 1 time in the NAIA in the DMR, breaking a program record she previously helped set. Her time in the 1000m seeded her second overall in the NAIA this season. 

Woods will compete this weekend at Vanderbilt, running at the Music City Challenge. The majority of the Knights competing this weekend will run at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
