Williams Doubles Up with NAIA National Honor
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington (Ind.) sophomore Jayden Williams has been named the NAIA Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, coming just days after earning Crossroads League Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors following a standout performance at the Crossroads of America meet on January 23-24, 2026.
A native of Oregon, Ohio, Williams delivered his signature moment in the 600 meters, winning the event in a loaded 28-athlete field with a time of 1:19.44. The performance set a personal best, registered an NAIA "A" standard, and now stands as the second-fastest 600-meter time in Huntington program history.
Williams wasn't done there. He doubled back in the 400 meters, finishing eighth out of 26 competitors with a time of 49.09, showcasing his versatility and strength across multiple events against elite competition.
Williams capped off the meet as a key leg of Huntington's 4x400-meter relay, helping the Foresters place second overall in 3:14.82, another NAIA "A" standard mark. The only team to finish ahead of HU was the University of Kentucky, underscoring the significance of the Foresters' runner-up performance in a field that featured NCAA Division I competition.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 181 NAIA All-America honors and 631 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
