MU's Tipping Tabbed NAIA Field Athlete of the Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Isaiah Tipping of Marian (Ind.) has been selected as the NAIA Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the NAIA on Wednesday afternoon. Tipping's honor comes two days after being named the Crossroads League Field Athlete of the Week, and is Marian's third overall NAIA Athlete of the Week joining teammate Jacob Netral and Arriana Benjamin of the women's team with the honor this year.
Isaiah Tipping continues to lead the nation in the weight throw, extending his Marian record and NAIA lead with his win of 20.89 meters in the weight at Indiana Wesleyan. Each of Tipping's good standing throws would have been good enough for first place in the weight throw, while three of his six attempts broke his own school record. Tipping would also finish sixth in the shot put on Saturday with a distance of 15.06 meters.
Tipping is a four-time Crossroads League Athlete of the Week and has earned his first career NAIA honor.
