Grace DMR squad lauded nationally by USTFCCCA
WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The men's distance medley relay squad for Grace's track and field team made history in more ways than one last week.
The Lancers ran an NAIA-leading 9:49.19 at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational, beating out five NCAA Div. I schools in the process.
The quartet of Bryan Hernandez-Rios, Tanner Sallee, Logan Rufenacht and Dimitri Margaritidis set Grace's school record and clocked the third-fastest time in the history of the NAIA. It's the best finish in the NAIA dating back to 2017.
As a result, the DMR team was honored as the NAIA's Men's National Athletes of the Week, selected by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It's the first time that Grace has won an NAIA indoor honor from the USTFCCCA.
