JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from April 27 through May 3. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Baseball Player of the Week
Brayden Manning, Taylor
Manning carried No. 1 Taylor to three-straight wins to open the Crossroads League Tournament. The senior hit .636 and belted two home runs and two doubles in the three games, driving home eight runs and scoring five.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Kevin Corcoran, Indiana Wesleyan
Corcoran tallied eight innings over two appearances for Indiana Wesleyan in the Crossroads League Tournament. The junior lefty fanned 11 batters and allowed just one run on five hits, while also registering one win.
Softball Player of the Week
Grace Lentz, Spring Arbor
Lentz had the hot bat for Spring Arbor during its extended run in the Crossroads League Tournament. The senior hit .438 with one home run, two doubles and four runs batted in for the Cougar attack.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Emilee Underwood, Spring Arbor
Underwood powered SAU's Crossroads League Tournament run to the championship game by going 3-1 in the circle and working 24.2 innings. Underwood posted a 2.84 ERA and fanned 16 batters.
Men's Golfer of the Week
Lane Zedrick, Marian
Zedrick stayed hot for No. 13 Marian, powering the Knights to their fourth-straight CL Championship and securing the individual title with rounds of 69 and 68 to finish at seven-under par.
Women's Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Kyla Bradberry, Marian
Bradberry was named the CL Championships Women's Most Outstanding Track Athlete after scoring individual wins in the 100, 200 and 4x100-meter relay. Bradberry and MU hit the NAIA-B standard in the relay at 46.60 for new MU and CL records.
Women's Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Kiana Siefert, Taylor
Siefert was a force for Taylor at the Crossroads League Championships, piling up 44 individual points for the Trojans over five events. Siefert won the 100-hurdles and heptathlon, while finishing runner-up in the triple jump, long jump and 4x100-relay.
Men's Outdoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Josh Holder, Indiana Wesleyan
Holder was named the CL Championships Men's Field Athlete of the Meet after winning the shot put and discus. Holder also hit the NAIA-B standard in the shot put with a throw of 16.53 meters.
Men's Outdoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Dean Reynolds, Spring Arbor
Reynolds scored CL Championship performances for Spring Arbor in the 800-meters and 4x800-meter relay. The senior's role in the relay helped the Cougars post the fastest time in the event in the NAIA this season.
