JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from December 16 through 22. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Zion Neat, Goshen
Neat powered Goshen to wins over Ave Maria and New College of Florida with 24.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists per outing, while shooting 58.1 percent from the field.
Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Serenitee Johnson, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Johnson played well in the paint for MVNU once again, this time in a 79-74 win over Oakland City. The freshman posted 20 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the win.
Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Anton Webb, Taylor
Webb did it all for the Trojans in a 121-115 double-overtime win at IU-East, finishing with 41 points, 19 rebounds, nine assists and two blocks. Webb was 13-of-21 from the field and just one assist shy of an elusive triple-double.
Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Ian Scott, Grace
Scott continued to fuel the Lancers, this time on the defensive end with big efforts in wins over Texas A&M-San Antonio and Nelson. Scott averaged 4.5 steals, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks to go with 17.5 points and 7.0 dimes per contest.
