JACKSON, Mich. – Indiana Wesleyan secured the 2023-2024 Crossroads League All-Sports Championship for its 22nd title since 2000 and the 27th title in school history, with 21 of those coming in the past 23 years.
IWU secured the 2023-2024 CL All-Sports Championship with 169.0 points, edging out Marian's total of 166.0 in the two-school race for the top spot. The Wildcats also took the top spot in the men's standings with 73.5 points and finished second in the women's standings to Marian (86.0) with 85.5 points.
"I am thankful for the student-athletes and coaches in our department that continue pursuing excellence and influencing others for Christ," stated Indiana Wesleyan Director of Athletics Deane Webb. "With the number of outstanding institutions in the Crossroads League, it makes this award that much more impressive. I have seen countless examples of excellence across multiple sports in our league, and it is easy to see why the Crossroads League is considered one of the very best in the NAIA."
Indiana Wesleyan won regular season Crossroads League Championships in the sports of women's tennis, volleyball, women's soccer, men's cross country and competitive cheer during the 2023-2024 year. The Wildcats added second-place showings in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's outdoor track, women's golf, softball and baseball. In all, IWU saw its teams place inside the top-four in the CL standings in 19 of the league's 20 sports.
Points for the Crossroads League All-Sports Championship are awarded based on each team's finish in the regular season standings, or for a team's finish at the league championship event for the sports of cross country, golf, competitive cheer and indoor and outdoor track and field. A first-place finish earns 10 points, with nine points for second, eight for third and so on, until each team is given a point value.
