JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from January 8 through 14. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Abbey McNally, Marian
McNally averaged a double-double for No. 6 Marian in a pair of low-scoring wins over Bethel and USF. McNally shot 72.2 percent from the field and scored 15 points in each affair, while also averaging 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 1.5 steals.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Gus Etchison, Marian
Etchison led Marian past St. Francis and RV Bethel in a 2-0 week with 30.0 points, 4.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per victory. The junior guard also shot it in at a 51.3-percent clip from the field to pace the Knights.
Women's Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Brooke Coffman, Marian
Coffman took first place in three events at the Wabash Open, edging the field in the 60-hurdles, high jump and 4x400-meter relay. Coffman also provisionally qualified for NAIA Nationals in the high jump.
Women's Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Lyssi Snouffer, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Snouffer set a new MVNU program record and automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals in the high jump with a first-place mark of 1.68 meters.
Men's Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Tristan Trevino, Marian
Trevino won the 800 meters and finished second in the 4x400-meter relay for Marian at the Wabash Open. The freshman provisionally qualified for NAIA Nationals with the fourth-best time in the 800 this season.
Men's Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Jacob Netral, Marian
Netral turned in the top shot put mark in the NAIA this season and broke the Marian program record with a distance of 18.11 meters at the Wabash Open. Netral also registered a top-five showing in the weight throw.
