Hackman of Taylor Named First-Ever CL Athletic Trainer of the Year

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced on Tuesday that KC Hackman of Taylor University had been named its 2022-2023 Athletic Trainer of the Year. The award is in its first year of existence for the Crossroads League.

"It is an honor to be selected by my peers for the first-ever Crossroads League Athletic Trainer-of-the-Year award," said Hackman. "I am thankful to work alongside a great group of caring and talented people at the other nine CL institutions. I think of this as a team award and would like to thank my staff of Patience Ramsey, Adam Sparks and Joe Walter for their tireless work and dedication to our Taylor student-athletes. I would also like to thank my administration and coaches we work beside for their support of the athletic training staff. Working at Taylor University with an amazing group of student-athletes is a blessing and I am humbled to be selected for this award."

Hackman recently completed his 18th year as Head Athletic Trainer at Taylor and his 23rd with the TU Athletic Training Department. Prior to coming to Upland, Hackman attended Ball State University, where he also completed a master's degree in sports administration in 2007.

As part of his duties at Taylor, Hackman works primarily with the men's basketball, baseball and men's and women's golf programs, while also overseeing the entire Athletic Training Department.

"KC has served our department with excellence for 23 years," said TU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Kyle Gould. "Him winning the inaugural Athletic Trainer-of-the-Year award is recognition of not only the last year, but the excellence with which he and his staff have cared for our athletics over a long period of time. He is more than deserving of this honor and we are blessed to have him leading our athletic training team!"

The Crossroads League Athletic Trainer-of-the-Year award was voted on by Athletic Trainers from the Crossroads League.
