IWU Athletics/WIWU-TV to Expand ESPN Coverage in 2016-17

MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University Athletics and WIWU-TV will produce an expanded schedule of live sporting events on ESPN3 during the 2016-17 season.

All Indiana Wesleyan home contests that are broadcast by WIWU-TV will also be broadcast on ESPN3. They have announced their fall schedule featuring three men's soccer matches, two women's soccer matches, and two volleyball matches.

Last season was the first time any Indiana Wesleyan home athletic event was broadcast on ESPN3 when the final five men's basketball regular season games plus their Crossroads League Tournament games were aired.

"IWU Athletics is committed to excellence on and off the court," said Mark DeMichael, Indiana Wesleyan Director of Athletics. "A partnership with ESPN is a natural fit for us and one that we hope will continue for years to come."

The new season of television broadcasts begin September 27 with Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer as they battle No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Spring Arbor (Mich.). See below for the full fall season schedule on ESPN3.

Winter season coverage for basketball begins on November 1 and a majority of home men's and women's games will be streamed lived on ESPN3 as well as WIWU-TV.

ESPN3 is available to cable and satellite subscribers on computers, smartphones, tablets, and connected devices through WatchESPN. ESPN3 is also available at no cost to college students and military personnel connecting through educational or domestic governmental network.

WIWU-TV is a 24/7 digital television station serving Marion and Grant County in north-central Indiana. The television station produces over 225 hours of local programming each year with a professional staff and communication students from the university.
